Coming home last night I noticed a slight shudder after slowing for someone turning. As I accelerated slighlyh it seemed to want to come out of OD and that is when I noticed the shudder. Also when it went back into OD. It did not do it again when stopping at a light and taking off. Lockup actuator or torque converter?
I would check (actually just change) the fluid in your transfer case. Unless you know it is good and fresh. I had a wierd shudder (usually as I pulled away from a stop), changing that took care of it.
It is like 2 quarts of ATF fluid, and has a convinient drain and then a convinient fill plug, so it would not hurt to do it.
Also, check your connecitons on your spark plugs. I had a different shudder at around 45mph and one around 60-65mph. Reseated all my wires that attach to the COPs and has not come back.
I had the same probs on my F150, (01) and on my 99 Expy, I had the ford dealer flush and fill my tranny, and also add anti shudder to the fluid, and that cured all the probs. and works perfect now

Good luck,

..... and remember to remove the fill plug first before you drain it if you change the tcase fluid
i had the same issue and had the tranny fluid replaced. Did not fix the problem... Decided to take it to Ford and the issue was actually a bad COP and fouled plug on #7. Since I know they go bad within months of each other, I replaced the remaining 7 along with the spark plugs and the truck runs great....
