While scavenging parts off my old 460 for the re-built one, I came across the adapter for the oil filter. It is a male/male adapter that threads into the block, then the oil filter threads onto the adapter. The flange is circular (not shouldered to accept a wrench). How do I get it out? Double-nut it? Do I have to buy a new one?
check the inside hole. Some have a hex in there so you could use an allen wrench or I have also taken a small chisel to break it loose and then you can turn it by hand. Just file down the chisel mark after.
thanks...I called the machine shop yesterday and they told me about the possibility of the interior hex. No luck. So I put a pipe wrench to it and pulled it out and the shop gave me one. All worked out fine.
