I read today that some of the ford vehicals came factory with a 70 mm meter ,if so what were they on? the thread said a 95 ca , whats ca?
can you them recalibrated to match 24 lb injectors?
can that meter be recalibrated for 24 lb injetors?
I know what you're asking and the answer is yes and no. You can alter the sampling tube so it's "calibrated" with 24lb injectors and the pair can be utilized with a stock computer. But this is a hack really, and it will result in less than optimal drivability and milage, the motor will run rich at idle and low rpms and lean at other points. If you have modified a motor enough to need bigger injectors then a tune is necessary, but larger injectors and MAF meter will do nothing but mess up a stock or mildly upgraded motor. The stock meter and 19lb injectors can support 300hp by the way..
Thanks for the info.
My motor is .030 over 9.5 to1 pistons and has the stock mustang cam in it now,Im runin the truck heads shaved .010 with 1.7 full roller rockers, truck intake and plentum, msd ign, headman headers,k&n air, axcell supper coil, and a mass air conv kit from summitt .
I do have a set of 289 58 cc potred polished 194 stainless valves with 1.6 roller rockers and guide plates sitting on the self,I'm wanting to change cams to a crane off road 264/270 rpm of 1400 to 5500 with a 112 lob dif and thought about putting on these heads.
What is your opinion and would you have an idea what I might be at for hp.I am going to get it dynoed and theyll burn me chip there I just want to get the combo right befor I go, dynoing isnt cheep.
That combo would fully utilize 19lb injectors and make 300hp give or take depending upon how well the heads flow. With an adjustable FPR you could probably cover it, but the injectors will be running at 100% duty cycle at the peak HP so lifespan will be reduced. If The Dyno tuner can burn you a chip to correctly account for the larger injectors and MAF meter... by entering the cobra MAF transfer function data and altering the injector size in the tables, then I say go for it. He should also be able to trim the WOT fuel curves as well. But as you're aware dyno time is expen$ive and it won't take long before you spend enough to pay for a Tuner package and wideband O2 sensor, about $500-$750, which will allow you to tune it yourself and make adjustments in the future as many times as you want without costing anything extra.
thanks Conanski your in put is really helping.the o2 Im using now is new but an origanal 4 wire heated one for the bronco,is this corect?
can you tell me more about the wide band o2 and about the tuners and who or were to call to get one.
are the tuners user friendly Im not very good with computers and trying to learn as much as posible
The one I recently bought.. but haven't recieced yet.. is this..http://www.tweecer.com/. I'm not gonna lie, operating a tuner yourself is probably something better suited to the technically proficient. I know my way around when it comes to most things electronic and computer related from my education in electronics engineering and my on the job experience working in the telecommunications industry. You also need to understand how an engine control system like the the EEC operates, something I'm getting a better grasp on all the time.
The good news is most of the hard work has been done already, there are resources on the web that expose the details and go into tuning stratedgys such as... http://eectuning.org/forums/index.php If you read through this and feel it's something you can handle then go for it. If not them maybe a custom chip would be a better option.
