Is this tire safe?
Manufactured in 04. 4500 miles. Is this deterioration unsafe?

Hey TNT, From what I can see the tire looks somewhat worn. Not a whole lot of tread left. It also looks to be cracked possibly from dry wrought. I wouldn't be afraid to use the tire around the ranch, but out on the road and in a vehicle I use to haul the family, I would change it out, or not use it. IMHO.

No, Been there, done that. Please do not trust that tire to tow with.
I had a set of Buck Shots, that had dry rotted within 6 months of installing them, and after reading the manufacture date I found out they were 4 years old before they had ever been mounted on my truck. Buck Shot paid 80% for a new set of tires of my choosing. ( I had already run 25K miles on theirs)

I read your other thread and I would try/demand your money back. Buying tires like that is not a good idea. Not worth the problems that could come about. My family comes first.

There is actually good tread though the picture makes it look like it is bald. Just the angle. I hope the guy gives me the money back. In the rain you could not notice the aging at all...bummer! I wonder if the manufacturer would deal with me since they are only 3-4 years old. BF Goodrich.
