Cruise Conversion?
My 02 F250 Same with a non-tilt, non cruise steering column.
Can anyone tell me how easy it is to convert to tilt steering with cruise.
I was thinking I could swap out the entire column and wheel and just plug in the harness (if it is there) since it is all drive by wire.
Any ideas? Anyone seen it done before?

do a search through the archives for the ford kit number, but don't expect ford to have it anymore.
NOTE: BE CAREFUL HERE!!!!!! disconnect both batteries, wait a minute, the air bag has about a 50 cal shell to make it work. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!
take the horn cover off the CC equipped steering wheel at a junk yard and remove the and buy steering wheel. get a replacement "clock spring" from ford for a cruise control vehicle, remove your steering wheel, install new spring, re-install new steering wheel from junkyard, put back horn cover. drive on with CC.
tilt conversions require the whole column/clip,, last I looked about $250 here in Reno.
you need the key for the lock on the new column, It should be different.

Do you have the plug under the dash that the cruise wires would plug into. It should be right next to the air bag wire plug. If you look at the first picture in this post https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...l-removal.html there's a picture of the two plugs that are just to the right of the steering column under the dash. If you've got the second plug then I'd guess it's just plug & play. If not you may have some more homework to do.
