my 79 ford f-350 has been running hot at idle and pulling heavy loads every thing concievable has been replaced the water pump,thermostat,radiator cap,hoses,timing is correct,radiator has been "rodded",new fan clutch,coolant changed,fan blade inspected,shroud is in good shape,and the truck runs good i have been having this problem for over a year and have run out of things to try

Might want to check the sending unit, or maybe the guage is incorrect somehow. It doesn't cost much to replace the sending unit, but it can really mess you up if it gives a bad reading. Not sure if that would cause it to read high or low, but that's my thought for today. Good luck.
