Ok guys, 1st question is, to prove my dad wrong, he seems to think that the 429/460 block is the exact same as the 332-428 Fe engines? And I believe that it is totally different series of engines can someone prove me right or wrong? Thanks
and questions #2 is-how much HP and TQ did a 1976 460 4barrel out a 76 t-bird put out? all stock except true duals all the way back from exhaust manafolds?
Thanks
Nick

Well, I can answer your first question, but not the second. The only similarity between a 429/460 "385 Series Big Block" and a 352/360/390/427/428 "FE Series Big Block" is that they are both considered big blocks. Other than that, they are totally different. Two different engine families with a signifacant amount a design differences. Hope that helps. You ARE right!

My Motors Manual shows 216 HP at 4000 RPM for a 1975 and 197 HP for a 1977...for some reason it does not list the HP for the 1976
year, it just shows the engine size.

well thats cetainly odd that they wouldn't list the HP and TQ for the engine isnt it? i wonder if anyone else could help me out there. Yes i love being right against my dad. it drives him crazy. But I was wondering guys what could I do to this engine that could make it back in tip top shape w/out rebuild or anything major. thanks

how much do you want to spend? I put a cam, timimg gear/chain, roller rockers, wieand stealth, and did some home head porting on my 460 a while ago and was very happy with the way it ran. it really wasn,t that expensive. cam 100. timing 30. roller rockers& stud conversion 240. wieand stealth 180 and head porting about 30 buck in bit and a weekend of grinding
