96 windstar p1408 p 1464
I have a 96 windstar 3.8 148,000. check engine stays on, engine starts fine idles a little high but goes down after about 30 seconds.code P1408 and P1464. All I,ve seen is about the bad head gaskets on this engine. Replaced all injectors ,Coil pack, wires egr had the intake off and cleaned, checked all vacume lines for leakes, And I thought I had it down to the pcm. That is until i saw a posting on this site about intake gasket. I did notice water in oil and I am losing coolant but its not leaking out anywhere visible. It will run fine for 45 minutes or so then check engine starts to flash and it runs like hell and trys to die. Shutting off and restarting acts like it never happened. But once it starts acting up it continues off and on until its off for at least an hour. Any suggestions. Thanks This is my first post
