Hello guys, I am looking to do some upgrades to the truck here soon. I want to drop it, and found this very nice, complete kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TODAY.m238.lVI
Anyone ever use this? Looks real nice to me!
I would not trust the fitment of that kit. It says it fits 73-79 f150 which is wrong. Beams fit 65-79 then 80+ due to unequal length beams being designed for the 80+ model year trucks. If you want to do a trusted suspension drop look at www.djmsuspension.com to look at their beams. They are pricey on their site but if you go to www.summitracing.com you can get them for like $580 shipped and I think the hangers and shackles are reasonably priced also.
I don't trust what they are calling I-beams. I-beams aren't round. I've heard and pictures of round "beams" bending. Find a drop kit that has real beams.
djm beams are square beams for our trucks , check lowered forums in search , lot of pics and advice , I am going with djm beams and aim tie rod relocators , my truck has been lowered in rear 5 inches with 1 inch adjustability when I drop the front . Took helper spring out as well and hangers and shackles , check my gallery . Post pics .

I meant to say 73-96, regardless though I would look at DJM's kit and not the one on EBay. You know what you getting with DJM.
I really don't think its a great value when compared to DJM (a well-known, respected company). Remember that DJM comes with new king pins and tie rod relocators, which I don't see included in this kit. And like the previous poster said, you can get the DJM kits from Summit for ~$550 for the front kit (free shipping) and you can get the rear flip kit for another $50. $600 total for a 3/5 drop, all you gotta buy is rear shocks (stock fronts will work).
Another think that confuses me is that the auction says that the kit includes a rear flip kit, but the pic show shackles and hangers, and later in the page it mentions shackles and hangers again. These are two totally different ways of dropping the back, but both give you approximately the same drop (4" for shackles and hangers, 5" for flip kit). Dunno, it sounds like they don't even know what they have.
