It's for our own good, I'm sure. They're just trying to look out for us. Isn't that why we keep electing 'em?

Im ok with it.

Its really not that bad of an idea. You wouldnt want someone walking into a restaurant who hadnt bathed in a week would you? No, its disgusting and completely their decision. Im ok with that, and im ok with tme paying 3x the price for plane ticket or multiple seats. I go to restaurants to eat and enjoy myself, not to watch a gelatonous pile of goo indulge themselves.

Unbelievable.

So it's ok to propose laws on likes and dislikes? You have got to be kidding me. When will people get it. Goverment has to stay out of people's lives. It is the only way will succede.

Jason. You avatar offends me. I come here to enjoy myself reading about ford trucks. I don;t see the need to view someone's mutt. If you want to post pics of animals, you should find a suitable forum for that. How stupid does that sound? Exacly the same thing!

You know what's really sad? A republican authored the vote. The po0lar opposite of what conservatism stands for.

Man.. i've seen this people discussing this all over the net... It's a joke, nobody wants it to become a law... not even the poeple that started it.

They were just trying to bring to peoples attention that obesity is a huge problem, and that it could actually come to that someday if something isn't done.

Yep, ya need to ask the folks gassed, burned alive, shot, in Europe, during WW2, what they think of a nanny state. Government needs out of our lives, not into it.

If you can think for yourself, then why would you want government, to tell you what to do on any level? It is just beyond me!

Oh, by the way do a search on your history. Hitler involked government health care, just before he started killing Jews.

Check your history folks, because history has a habit of repeating its self!

Sound like bulls__t discrimination to me. Obese people don't disgust me near as bad as ignorant people trying to pass ignorant laws. Lets let child molesters live among us and drug dealers, Dont worry about the small problems like that, just make sure fat people dont eat big macks! Lets put a cop in every mcdonalds and burgerking to make sure all the obese people are counting their calories. We cant have all the narrow minded people of the world being discusted now can we? HOW FRIGGIN RIDICULOUS!

That's right. They are just bring up the vote to open awareness through the state of Mississippi. MS's obesety rate is the highest in the nation at 66% (that's alot of "horizontally" challenged people) The law won't be passed.

Also, MS is a high welfare state and the more obese people on medicare and medicade the more health problems= more tax payer $$$.

So why are watching a "gelatonous pile of goo" eat? You must be if you mention this!
My g/f is what you call 'obese'. I love her to death and she is a dedicated, and I mean DEDICATED, home health nurse taking care of skinny folks who are drug addicts and have HIV. The federal government takes care of these folks just as they do folks who don't work and draw a check for sitting around.

Obesity is a problem all over this country......not just in MS!

I work a local government job and our insurance rates are based on our yearly phsicals. I think that's fair. If your BMI (body mass index) is high you have to pay a higher premium. You'd be surprised how many people are now on strict diets now. I think it worked out for the better.
