yesterday I was towing my tractor when I started smelling what smelled like eather I was going up a hill so I was in a strain when I started smelling it the motor woulden responded to the gas pedal very well . after unhooking the trailer it ran fine but I still had that smell for awhile.has this ever happened to anyonor can anyone tell me what caused this smell. I have a 1991 f250 7.3idi I am new to the 7.3 deisel. thanks for any help
My guess is a combination of clutch and engine surfaces that have not been that hot for a while.
I have developed a very small leak in my rocker cover gasket, every time I get the EGT's up close to 1100+or so you sure can smell the oil burn off the exhaust manifold.
Hoping for a bit of dry weather with decent temps so I can change the gasket soon.
As I type I am listening to the thunder roar and watching the rain pour.
