hey all, i'm writing this post so everyone can get a better idea of a web site that's not all correct. it should take more than writing down information from one book and starting a web site when you don't have all the correct information. now before you start writing me back saying i'm wrong, he does have alot of good information to share, it's what he has wrong that bothers me, because lots of people visit this site thinking there getting the right specs. i've tried to e-mail this person to tell him he needs to correct some things but my e-mails come back as undeliverable mail. so i guess i'll have to straighten some things out for you all.. 1). well for starters he has listed the codes (CY), (CV) for the drag pack option on the 429 s.c.j. and this is wrong, THE code for this app. is the letter ((R)), i've also heard of a ((J)) s.c.j. but i'm not 100% on that one, but i'll do some checking on that.. 2).some of the head castings numbers are incorrect, the casting C8SZ-B does not exist for the 429 or the 460,,, and once again let me say that there is only one casting number for the 429 c.j. and that is (( D0OE-R )) and no other, he has a D0AE-H number for this app. i laughed for awhile on that one.... 3). on the cylinder block casting numbers he has listed the following (C8VY- A),, (C9VY-A),, (D0SZ-A&D),, (D1VZ),, (D1ZE-AZ), they don't exist in all my years of searching big blocks i've NEVER seen any of these. the only common ones are (C8VE-F) I HAVE ONE OF THESE BLOCKS. and (C9VE-A), (D0VE-A), (D1VE blocks are about the most common... 4). on the rods all he has listed for the 1968-1978 429/460 engine is (C8VE-A), what about the others? he forgot , i've got a standard 1971 460 i just took apart and the rods are (D0OE-A) no there not c,.j. rods they have the ugly broached head bolts. i could swear that i've had D0VE-A rods but i can't remember maybe someone else can refresh my memory. and i'm sure they are other things out there that i haven't even come across yet, or just forgot about, but maybe! well just a few things to straighten out. fingers are getting tired. well let the fun begin, and you all have a great weekend.
