'94 302 truck engine

im about to aquire a '94 ford f-150 4x4 with the 302...what are the differences between this engine and earlier fuel injected 302's of the late 80's and early 90's?

Starting in 94 they came with a better roller cam. The specs are a tad under the HO cam. Put 1.7 rockers on it and the lift specs exceed the HO cam. Specs are 256/266 duration, .445/.473 lift with 1.7's. (.422/.445 with 1.6) 116* LSA.

How can I tell if I have the new or old cam...if I do have the new one, is it worth putting a new cam in?

I've got a 94, but it must be an early 94, because I have 1993 brakes (with the hammer-in slide pins)...

The firing order is a dead giveaway. The F4TE roller uses the 351W firing order(13726548). The 92-93 roller uses the old 302 order ( 15426378)

Sweet- thanks. So my cam is 256/266, .422 / .455 , 116 LSA.

If I go looking for roller rocker arms, what do I need to look for? I'm assuming I can probably re-use my pushrods.

..curious..are there roller lifters in there? Or is it just a roller-capable block.

You need pedistal mount roller rockers for a Ford, should not need anything else on a motor that has not been reworked.

The F4TE roller motors also have slightly different pistons that generate slightly higher static compression than the earlier flat tappet motors, 9.0:1 vs 8.5:1.

Change your pushrods if they've got more than 100K miles on em. They don't get rotated like flat tappet rods do and end up wearing funny on the rocker ends. Crane P/N 44746-16 are the ones you're looking for. These are the same rockers as the 93 Cobra's 1.7's.
