90 ranger rebuild

hey anybody know how hard it would be to swap a 2.9L FI with a with a 302 carb. its a 90 ranger 4x4

You will need the engine (obviously), a SBF trans, t-case or adapter to stock t-case, radiator, junkyard manifolds or swap headers, engine mounts, oil filter relocation kit, possible driveshaft modifications, a duraspark ignition is pretty simple to wire up. You will need some fab skills. It's a pretty involved project. If you want to daily drive it be ready to throw some cash at it and a good bit of time.

Time, a fab shop, and an understanding of electrical componements. It can be done, but it it'll take you longer than you think to accomplish. If it's a project truck and not your main ride, then have at it, otherwise this is a something to put on hold untill you have a second ride.

I've done a couple carb'd Ranger 302 swaps now, an 88 and a 90. It's pretty easy if you're handy with tools and have the equipment you need. You can buy a kit or scrounge up the parts individually. I went with a kit both times. Less of a hassle.
