I have a number of locations that operate E350 and E450 chassis. We recently received 80 2006 models with V10 engines. Since new we have had 3 different occasions where the vehicle has gone full throttle while shifting from park to drive. The mileages range from 700 to 21000 miles and it was on 3 different vehicles. Ford has had engineers look at all 3 and they say they can not find anything wrong. We have never seen this problem before.
There was a thread a while back in the 6.4l forum where a guy said his truck was stuck at WOT. That was a diesel though. Never heard any problems on the V10. I honestly like the throttle cable setup on 04' under trucks better. Some things are best left simple IMO.
I have an 07 F250 V10 and the throttle on it would do some crazy stuff. It would go wide open all by itself and some times would not respond to the throttle pedal at all. It was just after I bought the truck. It was very intermittent to begin with but got progressivly worse. When ever the throttle screwed up it required that the ignition be turned off and the truck restarted. Not much fun while in traffic. I was on a trip to Phoenix on I10 passing a bunch of trucks up a grade and the throttle quit. #$#!#@$^. That required that the truck be shut off and restarted so I could get back on the gas. Very tense few seconds for that incident. Took the truck back to the Ford store for the third time and said I don't want it back until this has been fixed. They replaced all of the drive by wire pieces. All has been good ever since. I have 18K on it now and it has not had one incident.

The pedal itself is part of the fly-by-wire system ,chk for water or corrosion around it.
We have seen a few crazy things ,with them at the dealer.
