Received a call from a friend at a GM dealership to come look at a trade-in they had taken - I brought home a 2002 Ranger XL 2.3 automatic with 19,700 miles. No marks on it anywhere. I'm good for a long long time.
This truck will be the daily driver. Not sure exactly what the previous owner did with it but it was definitely inside somewhere. Will post a pic when possible.
Probably an old man owned it. Wanted a bed but El Caminos/Rancheros are no longer in production so he went with a simple little Ranger. That's how I got mine, really low miles for the year and still rather tight for 100k on the ticker when bought.
Thanks for the comments as I am real pleased with this Ranger. I serviced a fleet of 4-cylinder Rangers for a courier company so I think I understand them fairly well. We had mostly "adult" drivers so they were driven reasonably and held up well. Before I retired the new Rangers had the 3.o V-6. In my opinion they used more fuel and did the job the same as the 4 cylinder Rangers. Needless to say, I am happier with the 4-cylinder than my 4.0 which will pull/push most anything and I paid for that at the pump.
After some research I ordered a Bed Rug last evening over e-Bay. Several posted hom much they liked the product so I will try it out and toss in my evaluation after a while.
