Well I was just out to pick up the son from a birthday party.

Limbs, garbage cans and other such stuff blowing all over the place.

I think our temp is about 10 degrees right now, with the wind it is much colder feeling out there.

Yup I agree.

I had to make a Lowes run earlier today. I went to the one in Beckley...it's getting worse and worse. This time it cost me about 600 to get out the door! Anyway, after Lowes, we stopped and grabbed lunch. Once that was done, we hit Wally world....about 20 minutes into this excursion, the lights go out. Then back on for a second. Then back out. Then back on for a second. Then back out. Then back on for a second. Then back out. Then back on for a second. Then back out. Then back on for a second. Then back out. I'm serious...this must have happend about 8 times before they just stayed out. Then they start making announcements telling folks that we have to come to the front of the store as they don't expect power back for two hours. Here's the amazing part. The cash registers were still up. I thought maybe they were on some backup generator but no. They're on some kind of UPS that gives them about 20 to 30 minutes before the registers die. The barcode scanners weren't working so they were having to manully enter each UPC number...but we did get checked out. Here I figured we'd just have to walk out and leave our stuff and come back another day...but nope!

I'll say this! WHAT WEEKEND? Spent yesteday getting a mobile home ready to find a new home. I wound up hauling 60 cinderblocks and 50 cap blocks to a buddy's house over in Monroe County. I've already got enough laying around and he's planning some work so I figured why move these darn things twice. I loaded up the utility trailer...and I do mean loaded up! I probably could have loaded another 20 or so blocks...but the tires wouldn't have made the trip. As it was, I kept my speed at about 40 for the whole trip and didn't have a problem. I really wish there was a set of scales around...I would have loved to have known what that load weighed. Anybody know what a cap block and a cinder block weigh? I never thought to drag a bathroom scale out to check them.

Needless to say...I'll be happy to see Monday so I can go to work and get some rest!

LOL

Not a good day yet. Somebody whacked our parking garage entry door sometime over the weekend so I'm trying to deal with finding a repair organization that's satisfactory with the building owner.

The good news is the door isn't scheduled to close until 6PM tonight. The bad news is I'm rural so any vender is going to have to travel and that usually means "we can get to you tomorrow".

Hope your day is better!!!! LOL

That sucks! Sounds lke your having a typical screwed up Monday! I'm just in the process of sending out a pm to all of our members, I'm trying to get them to come in and vote for a March meet, and to see who will be interested in getting stickers or license plates made up with our new logo. Otherwise, I've just been off harrassing the other chapters. Good luck with the door!

50 pounds sounds like a good average weight.

The actual weight will vary from plant to plant, even batch to batch in the same plant.

The Keystones we work with have a weight somewhere between 105 and 125 pounds each.
Target weight is 115, but plus or minus 10 pounds is allowable though.

Man, I'm gonna look stupid weighing one of each on my wife's bathroom scales! But, I'm really curious about what the utility trailer will comfortably haul.

Any of the rest of you guys getting snow right now? Coming down pretty good right here, probably a couple inches in the past half hour.

Joe, that won't look any worse than my Dad & I rebuilding a C6 transmission in the living room back when I was in high school.... We had a "how to" video tape and we needed to be watching it while we were working on it

It started snowing here about an hour or so ago. Looks like it's really putting it down, they're saying 1-2 inches tonight and 1-2 tomorrow.

May be a little late to work tomorrow depending on whether or not they get the roads clear...I don't want to skate to the bottom of the hill...in my car

Already had a close call a couple weeks ago, ran into a chain link fence & had to call for a tow...that wasn't fun. Don't care to repeat it.
