Windshield wiper assembly

I had noticed that my passenger side wiper was not making full contact when in the vertical positon of it's stroke and just assumed it was a weak spring on the wiper arm. Got investigating a bit further and it seems that the post the wiper arm attaches to is loose. Is this able to be adjusted/tightened? Do I have to remove the cowl to do it or what is involved?
Btw, I also noticed that my rear wiper assembly was a bit wobbly too so maybe this if a common problem with Fords.... hoping its an easy fix.

If memory serves me, our trucks are like the older Mopars, where it simply sits on a post with splines.

Canadiansmokie,

They are adjustable, if you take the end cap off there will be a bolt underneath, you can simply tighten it or take it all apart and clean it and put it back together. I know onmine i took it apart to clean because we have hard water here in Ks and it gets all caught up in the splines and corrodes the arm. If you take it apart be aware that you have splines on both the arm and the motor shaft, you will be able to align it anyway you want but be carful not to mash the splines. Also be careful when working around the glass with tools, i have seen way too many broken windsheilds becasue there was a slip of the wrench/socket.

Hope this helps!

Thanx...
I was more refering to the post/motor assembly itself being loose. I guess I'll just have to tear into it...
