what octain

just got a carbed 460, i think its an 89 the guy said it was rebuilt but im not sure if he ment swapped out or what. anyway what kind of gas do these like 87 or 91.

only mods i know of are stacks

It will run better on the 91. They like to detonate on the lower grade fuels.

My 1984 460 carbed runs fine on 87 and gets just under 10 mpg with 410 gears and it's a supercab and superduty.

thanks, ill see how it runs on 87, i know 91 would be better but some engines just do not like 87, and i dont know what the guy has in the tank. bear you have the same set up as me
