I need transefer case mounts. Is there a way I can just shim it up for now so that I can drive it for a few days. And where can I buy the mounts cheap. I checked Bronco Grave yard and it is nearly $50. Is that about what I am looking at? I got a shimmy bad when I get up to about 40mph. and I am think it is the mounts becasuse I can move the transfer case. Its a 73 f250 4x4.
anything other than poly bushings and you will get a bad vibration through the driveline into the cab. Thats one of those things where its not a good idea to "rig" up something or go to a junk yard. Sounds like its time to call JBG and fork over the $50
yeah I was out there today really looking at them and they are shot really bad so I am going to leave her sit untill I get the parts. Any advice on where to get the u joints? MY local parts store here in town want 22.00 buck for the front and rear lines and 15 for the intermidate line. so from them I am looking at a little over a 100 bucks to replace my u joints. LMC has them for under 10 dollars a piece but I dont know what brand they are. Probally not Prescion.
check into spicers life series. a little more expensive but well worth it IMHO. another good name is the brute force from napa and they are cheaper/weaker than the spicers .
On the transfer case mounts bronco grave yard has two sets one round and one square the round one is 10 dollars cheaper I think I have the square ones on now. But it says they are both for 73 205 so will either one work?
