Yesterday I had to do the U joints on my sister in laws jeep, when I went to work, i found out my little press didnt work, so, on the way home I stopped at Harbor freight. They had a "A" frame press that was just the right size for the task. It was 73.00 after tax and a two year warranty...Thought I would share. By the way. local charge here from the Auto parts store is 20.00 a joint for them to press.
YEP, been there. that was why i called this "U" joints made easy
I have a 20 ton air operated press and still use a 6" vise for automotive joints,I do have a special puller for big spicer joints but never intend to use it again
BFH with craftsman socketts was my long time method, the sister in laws jeep has a constant velocity joint on it, that was why i changed my evil ways, what should i look out for that keeps you from using your press. i would rather not learn the hardway
