2004 Expedition
Hello everybody! New to the forum. I just bought a 2004 ExpeditionXLT w/4.6l and 4x4. I like it a lot but have some minor issues.
1. The tires seem really noisy going down the road.They have the original Continentals...33,000 miles.seem a little worn on the inside..can this be fixed by rotating and balancing or should I get new tires.If I replace them I would like to go a tad wider than the stock tire ,maybe a size or 2 ?
2.The truck is the maroon color(not sure if its called that)and has the dark grey molding .The molding on the doors has really faded and looks crappy.Is this a recalled item and what can I do?
3.The interior is cloth which i like but the front seats have some wear and the drivers seat seems collapsed?
4.I was thinking that the truck could use some subtle pinstriping (color)?ala Eddie Bauer if they still did that on 04's...
5.there is no indicator light on when I go into a4wd is that normal

1) get rid of the contis. there are plenty of better choices out there. i would just stick with the oem size....maybe go to an LT tire if you pull anything.
2) you can try to get the moulding covered under warranty, but being it's an 04, i'm sure the original 3 years is up.
3) good fabric cleaner and some febreeze, and replace the bottom cushion
4) mine doesn't have any pinstriping(03 EB), and i like it that way!
5) that's normal.

markIII: Thanks for the response.I guess I posted too many issues on one thread.Will try ro correct that in the future.
I changed the oil the other day and used the 5w20 motorcraft syn.blend with a fram oil filter.The oil filter was a PAIN! Would be nice to have the right kind of filter wrench before I started.
