Hey All.
I have a 2000 7.3 w/6spd and were nearing 260,000k and I have been thinking about rebuilding the motor( runs good and strong still). There are lots of new parts out for the 7.3 these day's and was wondering if anyone has a motor that they rebuilt themselves to good performance. From 30,000k the motor has run 4" staitpipe w/superchip 1505 in tow/ haul setting. I want to retire the truck from every day use to weekend toy/horse trailer hauler.
If it is not smoking and making good power, I would not rebuild it. 260k is not the rebuild point of a PSD unless somthing has happened or the compression has fallen off. I know this is not the answer to your ? but I cannot see it in a healthy 7.3 unless something is wrong.
