the truck i am getting ready to trade for is titled as a76 but it has a 79 front end. the transfer case is attached to the tranny. so im thinkin it isnt a 76 actually
Ive seen people use titles for different year trucks. Basically the DMV is too stupid to know the difference between a 76 or 79.
Is it a 73-77 F150 or F250?
F150s had the married (attatched) transfer cases and F250s had the divorced (seperate)
Another possibility is that the truck is a frankenstein and was put together with several different year trucks. Its hard to say what has happened in the past 30 years.
Post the vin and some more specs. Pics wouldnt hurt either.
i think it is a frankenstine myself. i dont have too many specs yet. i know it has a 460 motor and it is a F-250 dana 44 front and a dana 60 rear which is pretty generic i know.
Yeah after reading your other post Id say its a Frankenstien. The PO probably swapped in the 460 with a 351M/400 bellhousing C6 and Np205 from a 77.5-79 truck. Very common and its still a 76.
You should notice the frame in the rear narrows just behind the cab.
