Newer V8 engines??
A friend of mine is looking at newer cargo vans and asked me about the V8 engines. I don't know anything about them, can anyone help out?? I'm not even sure of the sizes anymore, is there a 4.6 and a 5.4 or something? What's the scoop, pros/cons etc of the two sizes and tranny combos?

Don't really know about the Vans but I can say there is no way I would get any thing like a fullsize van with the 4.6. I just picked up an 2001 Expy and test drove both the 4.6 and the 5.4 and the 4.6 was a dog. My suuggestion to your friend is to test drive both to see which he/she likes better. BTW the gas milage with either engine is almost the same.

If all the van will do is commute, then a 4.6L with 3.55 gears would be adequate, otherwise get the 5.4L. It's a worthy investment.
