Question Computer read out

I believe the #'s were 170, and 172

Lean on banks one and two

Possible problems:

Mass Air Sensor
Oxygen sensors

Anybody have any ideas ??

The mechanic will look into it next week.

Was wondering about the cost of the parts mentioned above, OR if there is any other ideas of possible problems/remedies.

Thanx

"Believing" isn't enough. You have to know what the faults codes are.

You also need to specify what vehicle you're working on, you have two different F-series in your signature and there may be differences.

FWIW, a CEL with "lean codes" is one of the most frequently asked questions. Well discussed.

check your BARO reading PIDS. In northern MN this should be between 153 and 156. IF it's lower then that, remove the MAF and clean it. If you have an aftermarket oiled air filter, remove it and clean it anyways. Oil leaks off the filters and dirties up the MAF.

Could be a vacuum leak. If you have the ability to monitor PIDS, monitor Short Term Fuel Trim. spray carb/brake cleaner around the engine and watch for your reading to spike negative. narrow it down to the point on the engine that spikes the PID.

Could also be fuel pressure. a beginning to fail fuel pump or a dirty fuel filter could be the culprit...

It was probably P0171 and P0174. These are usually caused by either a dirty MAF or a bad PCV hose elbow on the rear of the intake manifold.

Hven't been around for a while. We cleaned the MAS, and we "thought" that fixed the problem, but it was a intermittent COP. I may have used the wrong term, by saying "intermittent", but one of them was bad, (according to FORD), and they replaced it, and so far truck is fine.

SORRY, it took so long to get back here, but there have been alot of problems lately !!!!!!
