Pish Posh!!
I spent the afternoon under my F-1 pulling front springs out, ok, so I exagerrate a little bit, I only pulled apart one side. My donor front springs (thanks Ross) appear in good condition and the bushings are even usable. My original pins were replaced not long ago so thats cool.
Here's the pish posh part (say that I few times fast). The front spring shackles are pretty sloppy. No problem, call the local spring shop, things are going good as they are open half day on saturdays but then they don't have the pin...
...they quit carrying it because it got so expensive ($32 each) but would be happy to order them for me.
For those that don't know, the 48-52 trucks use a 4 3/8" long pin at the upper part of the shackle as oppose to the 3 1/4" length pin for the rest of the springs. The 53-56 trucks use the same length pins everywhere (or so I was told)
I quick trip (online) to Sacramento Vintage Ford netted me all new front shackles and pins for both sides for $50 (which included shipping) but now I'm stuck waiting for parts and truck is down for the count, therefore, Pish Posh!!!
(what is most frustrating about this is that I knew I needed these parts and should have ordered them a week or so ago when I broke the spring....again..PISH POSH!!!)
Thanks for listening to my Friday night rant. I think I'll head out to the garage, crack open another frosty beverage, sit in the driver's seat and proceed to make vroom vroom noises while pretending to head out on the open road.......

I'm not 100 % certain, but I do beleive it's " pish tosh " not " pish posh "
I do feel your pain in having to wait for the parts though. Only working on mine from April to Oct (most years), I hate loosing a week or two waiting for some part I didn't know I'd need. I have spent several weeks now trying to determine EVERYTHING I need for this summer and ordering it....(spent over $5K last sunday on it). Yes that's $5.K !!!

(Actually, tomorrow is supposed to be up in the 20's. I hope to get the garage cleaned up and ready for the next step.)

Pish Posh
-another way for saying bulls@@t, or complately incorrect
Pish Tosh
-a nice, upper-crust, slightly less obnoxious way of saying "bulls@@t"
Man I love these cultural lessons!

Oh Yeah, the actual thread context..........I can certainly relate, finally got time to work on the truck and some little part shuts you down..........makes smoke come out my ears and frosty's go in my belly. ..... wait........most things make frosty's go in my belly

I hate to wait on parts to; When I started biding on my wheels 3 weeks ago on e-bay they still had 6 days left on the biding. Thought I would go nuts. But I got them and got them on and it was worth the wait.
That made me thursty to. Think I'll have a frosty one to,
