Ok folks I went and checked out some tires yesterday and I think I've settled on the LT255/85R-16. (pizza cutters) That tire measures 33.5" tall and not much wider than what I am currently running. Carefull measurement shows they will fit without rubbing. (and I've seen one running the same setup)
Question is, other than actual speed being higher than speedo will show and effective gear ratio being different, will there be any adverse effects on the truck? Shifting charicteristics should't change or anything like that should they?
Any constuctive input is welcomed and appreciated.
Na you shouldnt have any problem. As the stock F350 has 235/85/16's. Yours are just a little wider. How come you dont get 285/75/16, its also a 33, just not as narrow as yours?
Narrow tires do much better in the snow and ice, more pounds per square inch. I ran 12.50-16.5s on an old truck years ago and after switching to narrow tires I couldn't believe the difference. While I'll admit wider looks better narrow will perform better in 90% of what I do.
