460 conversion

I have a 79 460 with a c-6 out of a 2wd f250 supercab. Will the c-6 bolt directly to an NP 205 transfer case in my 77 1/2 f250 4x4.

yes the C-6 will bolt up to the np205, but you might run into a problem with the tail shaft, it might be to long and you will have to find a shorter one. c.j.

Thats correct. The output shaft for the NP205 is different than any 2WD version. Also the 2WD output shaft often has a clip ring that holds it in the trans. This clip is deep inside. So you will need to take apart the C-6 to remove the clip. The NP205 output shaft does not need the clip. You can buy the shaft for about $50-75. Also there are two output shafts depending on the C-6 to NP205 adapter you have 5.5" or 8.5" long.
