2003 F150 supercab 4x4, flash code of 27, i call dealer he said it was front airbag sensor, been having trouble with connection and or ground where it mounts to truck, 4 wheeled thru snow bank light goes out... problem is i can not find where the sensor is mounted to the truck, have looked and looked and looked and........................help please.
I could be wrong! but if I recall there are is an airbag sensor (at least a connection) under the passenger kick board I had to remove when I replaced my heater core. I had to remove the airbag from the dash before removing the dash.
If you are refering to the crash sensor it is built into the airbag control module located on the transmission hump under the dash.
Would that be grounded where it mounts (transmission hump), hence one would be able to clean the mount and or connection? I am looking past the pad sensor because the code clears if I drive in deep snow, and stays clear for a day or two. I am sorry ,,, I see now you are speaking about inside the cab.
Thank You very much to antony25 and to steve,,, for helping with what the
LFC code was and where to find the info on making the repair. Thanks again, Mitchell
sounds like a bad P.A.D. switch. Turn your key on and see if the p.a.d. light lights up for 2 seconds. If not you need a new switch.
I realize this is a 2 year old thread, but I did not see the point in creating a new one. Last week my truck started flashing code 27, flashes twice, then the airbag light stays on.
However, I am fairly certain that my P.A.D. switch does light up briefly when the truck is started. So, what else could be the cause of the code 27? I have read about loose wiring, could this be somewhere under the seat / passenger kick panel?
