I have had my 2001 f-250 for 8 or 9 mo. but did few mods to it so far. I looked at the PCM the other day seen a gold cover that has superchip on it. I have know idea what it is or if it working. Any info would be nice to know. Thank You
i'm sure it's working if it's on the pcm. if you want to feel it take it off and then try to move fast with out it. if you want a big power jump get a dp tuner.
Yeah, that is a chip on your PCM, it is to add more power. If your truck feels like it is better than stock, it is working. Like said, take it off and drive the truck and you should feel a difference.
Now, is there any other mods to the truck? Like bigger exhaust, intake, gauges? Let us know what is on there and we can help you fix this big problem you have with that chip.
The truck has a 6637 air filter looking at getting gauges and exahust in a few weeks but dont know when i am getting dp. took off the chip you can feel a dif. in power but the big dif. is in the way it shifts stock feels much smoother with out the chip.
the best way for our trucks to shift is fast and hard. if i floot mine and don't let up on the 120 dp race tune it kicks like a mule.if i put it back to stock its all slow and nice but it thinks about shifting and lets the tc slip.
I have a picture of the chip that was in mine my gallery. More than likely from what i could find out about the one I had, it was a 60hp chip, never did find any tq information on it. I do like the DP much better than the superchip though.
