Wanna good laugh?
....Now, I know this doesn't deal with the 6.0, but I figured I would post here b/c I've made some friends that view this section.....One night, me and a few buddies decided we were bored and would go for a ride. There was a new development under construction about a mile up from my buddy's place. There were no "no trespassing" signs, so figured we would go down there to explore. About 2 miles down, the paved road ended. I forgot to mention that it was pissin' down rain and was so foggy you couldn't see a foot in front of you. I felt the transition of pavement to mud. I applied my brakes, and the ABS kicked in, taking about 100 ft to stop while only going about 20mph. I put it in 4x4 to back onto the pavement again. My buddies were following behind me in a Jeep, but his 4x4 was broken, so he wasn't going anywhere. We all got out and pushed the Jeep back onto the paved road--while getting COVERED in mud. I got back into the f150 to backout, but when I started backing out, the truck decided it wanted to go sideways. It rested on the side of an enbankment. I was trapped, no way to go except down the enbankment. As I tried to carefully straighten out, the front end of the truck fell down the enbankment....CRAP!
I knew the truck was stuck, and I wasn't getting myself out...so, we called some friends that were heavily into offroading with Jeeps. They tried to pull me out, but the small Jeeps just didn't have the weight or traction. One of the guys said he knew a trick......we would bury my spare tire with a come-along attached to it, that way we would have a stationary object to come-along my truck out. Me and one of my friends began digging the hole. I had a shovel, and he a pickaxe. We were about halfway done....I looked into the hole to see our progress when all sudden everything went black.
After what seems forever, I finally start seeing again. The side of my face feels really wet....I wipe my face with my hand, and look down....my hand is COVERED in blood. My friend accidently hit me in the head with the pickaxe when we were digging
Blood is everywhere, and I keep blacking out. My friends suggest to rush me to the E.R, but I wasn't going anywhere without my truck
After bandaging up my head to stop the bleeding, I decide it's time to call in a tow truck. Finally, after 3hrs of waiting(it is now about 4am), the tow truck arrives. The driver comes out, and first thing he says to me is, "This is gonna' cost you." I was in no position to bargain. After telling me the price, he stretches out the cable. It doesn't reach....and he refuses to drive into the mud. So a few friends rush home to get some tow straps to attach to the cable. Finally, we try to pull it out--knowing that the angle he was going to pull me from could cause the truck to fall completely into the ditch. The truck starts budging, then SNAP. There goes the tow straps. The tow truck driver tells me there's nothing he can do for me, and it will be $100 for hookup. My friends finnaly convince me that theres nothing we can do tonight (it's now 7am) and drive me home. Later that morning I call all the redneck truck owning guys I know. I told them whoever can get it out gets $500 cash. A few guys show up with trucks. Its about 9am, and we try everything. Use two truck chained together and try to pull....nothing. Even one of the truck's frame snaps from all the force (chevy of course). I'm skipping a lot of details to make this as short as possible. But it is now dark, and we decide we need the biggest come-along we can get our hands on. Long story short, takes two trucks chained together and a 15,000lb come-along at the same time to finally get 'er out. Enjoy the pics
