start please!

Hey guys. I am new to the forum and a proud owner of a '69 f-100. I have been having a fit with my ignition system. I replaced the starter and sylonoid last month and it worked like a dream until yesterday. It started with a dead battery, I got a jump. Then the ground wire melted and the sylonoid went. I replaced the sylonoid again and the ignition switch. It started right up. This morning i went to start it and the started only whirred. Removed it and the teeth on the month old stater are shot. Thought maybe starter stuck on but i never heard it. Any advice?

Not sure about the wiring deal, but did you look at the teeth on the flywheel?

If the wires burnt up on the then likely it might have been stuck on and you drove it that way? Maybe?

Definitely want to check the flywheel, as it might be chewed up now too. If it's bad enough it might tear up the starter again.
