The wife's '97 gets tempermental, when outside temps. get 20deg. or colder and eng. temp. is cold. I kinda ruling out intake man. gaskets for the moment 'cause it seems to be running smooth, with decent mpg. When you start it, you have to have the accl. pedal slightly depressed, to start & stay running. After 30- 40 sec. the idlle increases then will stay running on it's own. I hoping that it's some kind of soloniod acting up. Thanks, in advance, for any help.
Don't rule out that intake leaking they are bad for that. they will give a cold start problem that will go away within minutes of start up. On way to check out the iac value is to give a 1/4 throttle on start up and see how that work. If it ok most likey throttle body is dirty and iac is dirty , sticking or just worn out . you can trying clean both with a carb and choke cleaner and a tooth brush to clean inside the throttle body
That's what I going to try for now, simple things first.Seems like I do have to give it about a 1/4 throttle to keep it ruunning, then like I posted, revs will jump up to normal cold rpm approx. 1000-1200 rpm, and act normal. It has newver died on the road yet. thank God. Thanks for the input.
