what are the biggest size tires that will fit on a f250 highboy? 35-36? i currently have 33x12.5 r16.5 and i can get a set of new tires for 50 bucks, but they are 35x12.5 r16.5. i also had the chance to get 36x12.5 r16.5 tires, but i passed because i didnt think they would fit. my truck is, as far as i know stock height. i like it where it is, but for the price of the new tires im hoping they'll fit.
i think that it isnt so much what will fit, as it is what will look good. my 77 f250 highboy with stock suspension had 315/75r16's and they fit the wheel well opening perfectly. if it had bigger tires it would look out of proportion to me. just a thought.
well right now i have 33 12.5's and they fit the wheel well pretty well, but i can get 4 35's for 50 bucks, i wasnt sure if they would fit. but now im wondering how they will look. if anyone has pics of there highboy with 35 or 36's and stock height please post them.
I have a '76 250 High Boy with 35 x 12.50 x 16.5 Mud Terrain's on it right now, however before I bought those tires I put my buddy's 36 x 12.50 x 16.5 Buckshot Mudders on it for a trail ride and they had plenty of clearance with no lift. I do not have pictures of the 36's but I do have some of the 35's, but I am not sure how I would send non digital pictures electronicaly.
im going through the same delema. the problem is highboys seem to vary in height due to different work conditions. ive heard of people clearing 38s with a stock susp. but mine wont clear 35s. the look good factor is huge, sure itl fit 35s, but itll problably look funny. im gunna ether put a 2" or 4" lift on mine to clear 36s NICELY.
also look in the gallery there are lots of trucks in there that have oversize tires in there.
I have 33s under my 75' and i have plenty of clearance, so i dont think 35s should be a problem, thats if your srings still have somewhat of a arch to them.
