Strange noise

Bought a 08 4x4 CC SB KR auto 3.73 in mid dec last year. It's a job 2. Mileage has been average. Regens have been minimal. I use the truck up and down the hwy and to occasionally pull my boat. Nicest truck I've ever owned. I recently have noticed a strange noise when taking off or getting into it to pass. The engine noise will get loud and kinda rough then smooth out. It doesn't do it all the time but it didn't start doing this till about a week ago. Truck has 3010mi on it. Anyone have similar issue. Sounds like a turbo but unsure. Power is still there. No problem lights. Mileage same. Looked under the hood and didn't notice anything obvious. Hate to drop the truck off for a day for a noise.

If it does it consistantly, take the tech for a ride and ask him if you need to leave it. May be something minor that you can wait for.

I heard the same noise after a ball breaking tow from Virginia Beach to Asheville with a 9000 pound boat. Sounds like a jet engine winding down? I don't know what it was either...still waiting to hear it again.
