will the dist for a 351m-400 fit a 460? I have heard a 460 dist fits a 351c. I have a 79 f150 4x4 that i am putting a 460 into and want the electronic dist and just woundering if i could use what i had or if it was off to the junkyard.

Yes,the 351m-400,351c and 429-460 all take the same distributor..

Been there done it ,got the movie and the T-Shirt.


Btw, I put a little anti-sieze compund on mine when re-installing it.
It seems to get some corrosion around the base.

I've also done it. Works pretty good for the most part. I will agree with mil1ion about the anti-seize. They are bad about the base getting corroded and not wanting to move later on in vehicle life.

thanks guys, this is good news, one less item I have to look for!
now to find out what that strange noise coming from the front end was last night. I think it was a wheel bearing.
