I've decided to paint my '48 the original color, but I'm having a hard time figuring out just what that color is.
What's the difference between Meadow Green, and Glade green? Anyone have a picture comparison they could show me? I tried doing an image search but didn't turn up with much.
Hi --I have a favorite color for my 56 and it is meadow green. I am still in base-coat so-far and wait till spring on clear coat. Anyway meadow green is a dark army green color. Glade green is more like a brighter green.
Go to a local paint store and have them show you the color charts.

It also depends on who makes the paint. You might have two companies with the same Color name but without an actual paint number from ppg it will vary.
Get the ppg number and then the other non ppg stores can cross ref and give you a much better price. Without the number your going to search books and most wont have any origianl books just Ford books maybe back 20 years or so.
Make sure you state ''meadow'' green. My ppg mixer girl made me up 2 quarts of meadow-mist green and it is a 56 ford code also. Be careful---I came home opened the can up,and was horrified---and all ready to spray......oh well Bill
Keep in mind that monitor setting can have a huge effect on how a color looks. Its always better to see them in person but maybe you can use the link to narrow your search and give you some idea of what you need to ask for at the paint store.
My truck is sort of a dark green that I believe was painted back around 1964, but where it's peeling, it seems to be a lighter green so maybe I'll go with the lighter color (mostly because I've had 3 cars so far that have been all dark green and I'm getting a little sick of that color )
