I don't care to buy anything from Wal Mart, much less "Fresh" meat.
A few years back, Food Lion got in trouble for repackaging outdated meats, and gassing rotted meat to look fresh, and relabeling it as fresh.
They also showed how the meat cutters would drop meat on the floor and just stick it in a package, then the to the display case, among other vile acts.
The pictures on TV would almost make you throw up. Good thing I couldn't smell it.
I haven't been in a Food Lion 20 years.

I welded up a hog trap for my son to use at the ranch. It has a door that drops when the trigger is touched and we hoped to catch a nice hog. He went to check on it and found 8 pigs crowded into it (sold them for a nice profit). We are going to make Mod-2 trap with an open top because we have trapped 2 deer so far.

I've never been a fan of Walmart meats. Most of the beef Walmart sells is pillow packaged in CO to keep it looking fresh and I think all their pork and chicken is "enhanced", which means it's been soaked and packaged in a salty solution. But they do occasionally have decent Steakhouse brand "USDA Choice" steaks. The Select grade steaks aren't any better than what you get at any other discount grocery store though.

We stick to the commissary for our meats.
