I removed B B fuel shim fuel psi still 145 ish at WOT only drops 5 psi . I have in tank mods from itp to put in at shop but busy now maybe friday , just wanted to here what yall think . Gauge is correct checked it on air system just to make sure before post.
Please be understanding im new to site and not as great with computer as i am with snap on . I am open for advice.
.
O.K. a couple of things, one fuel bowl lid is plastic, and utilizes a compression gasket to seal. I do not know if I would trust this to 145PSI. Did you also install the C-C kit? if so you might need to run down to the fitting house and get a larger orifice to relieve some of the pressure.
If you didn't do the CCkit, then with that monster of a pump, it may be time to do a fuel bowl delete, and run your fuel lines directly into the heads, (with another in line filter like the ITP kit has.),and return out of the other end.
i have not had hands on one of these pumps, but by any chance does it have a pressure adjustment spring?
Another option may be to install a needle valve in the fuel line feeding the filter housing. I know that Parker has some that would work, and they're not more than about $20 max (IIRC). A cheaper option would be an orifice instead of the valve in the same line.
Thank you tor advice . Yes Brandon Grant is B I L . just looked at pump for 02 excursion not a psi adjustment. I also checked 02 excursion today i put a vortec super charge 50/70 pump on it 2 weekends ago when wifes went out. Psi on it is 95 then 65 at WOT. This is a little better. I am going to put walbro 95 Hi psi on wed night along with itp in ank mods. I will post on psi when i have it changed out on excursion. Thanks for help to you and Pete the on 2 to post anything.
Cracker, it is highly unusual for a post like yours to receive only my and Brandon's responses. Typically, there is a pretty large host of folks who chime in on most things, but occasionally a thread sort of slips through teh cracks of everyone's attention.
Only reason I share this is because I don't want you to get the wrong impression about how folks pitch in with each other in here. This forum is comprised of a great bunch of folks who really work at helping each other out, especially newcomers. Having experienced the "love" in the forum, it's hard to not share it when someone new comes along.
Looks like Dan also responded, its just in the other thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...68&postcount=7 , and he is basically reaffirming what you and I have said Pete. High pressure but low volume will not help performance, we have to remove some of the restriction in Crackers fuel system other wise he will not have enough volume to feed the injectors on the higher side of the fuel map.
