Anyone have these on your truck? I'm trying to decide if I like them or not. I'd love to see them on some trucks. Black would be ideal.

And what's the largest tires that can safely go on the 8" rim?

305-315mm wide tire would be the max that manufacturers recommend for a 8.0" wide wheel.

I ran a 325mm wide tire on mine for a while without issue, now I run 18x8.5" Weld wheels.

How much difference does the .5" width of the wheel make as far as extra width goes? is it noticeable in the look of the tire, or more functionality?

It definitely made my tires look wider just from going to a 18x8 to a 18x8.5.
Even the tire guy was surprised how much wider they looked.......since the sidewalls aren't being pulled in as much.

My 08 is coming with the 17" rims. Those are going bye bye.

I am going to get this style.

They would come from the factory with 275/70R18.

2008 with no lift, I can run 305/65R18 with no problem? What other options would there be?

I've been looking into this the past couple hours and now realize that 275/70-18 (stock) is the same tire as 285/65-18, just half an inch less width. Amazing thing this internet.

I'm going to run those rims with the 285/65-18s and go for it.

Not quite the same but close. I have the 285 65 18 and they are 32.6" and 11.5" wide. The 275 70 18 are 33.2" and 11" wide.

Repeat the 270 70 18 are narrower than the 285 65 18 by 1/2"

On an 08 some guys have run 35/12.50R18s on the stock wheels under a stock height truck (larger wheel wells up front vs. older 07 and older trucks).

Personally, I'd go with a 305mm or 315 on the width.

My tires are 325/60R18s and the additional 2" of width over the 275s really give the truck a better look/stance.

Yes they are 285 65 18E. They are decent tires. Not great tires. On s scale of 1-10 they get a 7.5.

The problem with that size in that they are very few manufacturers to choose from. Basically toyo, nitto, bfg, and now michelin. Thats it. Each company only has one tire to choose from also.

I have the 285 Toyo AT on my 04 and love them. Great in the snow, and wearing perfectly.

Where are those numbers from? I have the Toyo specs here in front of me.

275/70-18 (33x11.0R18)

285/65-18 (33x11.5R18)

Both show 33" height.
