another frame question
are the frames on a 79 sc 1/2 and 3/4 ton the same? the 1/2 a 2wd and the 3/4's a 4wd the reason i'm asking is because i'm swapping the dana44 front axle over to a dana 60 and i'm considering a 4wd conversion for the 1/2 ton if the frames drilled for it

Installing some weld on wedges to the axle to accomodate coils and radius arms is not that difficult. You will have to find some extended radius arms, and you will have to lift the truck to clear the rather larger cossmember, but a 4wd conversion is really not too bad. Not gonna be a bolt in deal like you had anticipated, but it is not all that bad.
A divorced T-case, and a little fab work will have you up and running in no time.
