Lower southeast for the next 10 + years, Then plan to move to Upper Peninsula and change my FTE name to Yooper Maevans. only with yooperbill permission
I have seen my home town change so much that it doesn't feel like home anymore.
You have my permission. I grew up in Livonia and left there in 78 to join the Air Force. Have no regets about ever leaving and not sure if I could live there again. Was in Aurburn Hills last April going to robot school and got a good reminder of why I left. Took the family to my 25th class reunion 5 years ago and while sitting in the gas station at 7 mile and farmington, I told my kids that they will see more cars in the time it takes me to gas up the Super Duty then we will see all day on US-41 up here
If your in the flint area, you luckily have 2 choices.
Dixi and auto city. =)
Didn't care for Dixie. We went to auto city after Mt. Clemens was torn down. They even paved it for all us guys. Never got to race on the dirt but it was a good show.
Haven't been to Dixie since the early eighties, when one of my uncles was running in hobby stock. He ran a Vega with an inline 250 cube chevy six. He won the first race he was in with it, and then never again.
I remember him getting t-boned hard while in turn 1 and 2 and going up on two wheels BIGTIME. I swear I could hear my aunt's screams above the engines.
He came down unhurt but shaken pretty bad. He gave the driving duties up.
Now that I'm healthier we will probably start going back to watch. My partner destroyed the late model once but it wasn't his fault. He'll race till the day he dies.
Central Michigan here. Eaton County. We had a lot of rain here and most of the snow is gone. What we have now is ice rinks in the fields and some roads.
