FW-16 additive or RMI-25 in coolant ?

Has anyone used the RMI-25 cooling system treatment in their 7.3L diesel ? I read the advertisement, but have not found any long term tests results. The FW-16 additive is the only thing Ford says to use to stop the cavitation in the engine. Any replies would be appreciated.

I would stick to the FW-16.. or flush it and change to the Gold or Red extended life coolants.. (no need for the SCA fw-16). I would not take the chance on ruining a $9000 engine..

Thanks for the sound advice. I am surprised that Bob Riley hasn't thrown in his opinion though.

Stick with the Motorcraft FW16 which is now actually called VC8, or Fleetguard DCA4 which is the same stuff. I'm with clintbonnie on no sense in being a guinnea pig with a high dollar engine.

I use the Fleetguard DC4A because I get it from a buddy for free. They make the additive for Ford and Motorcraft puts it in their own bottle.

Make sure you get some test strips and keep up on it. Cavitation kills a lot of these engines when not maintained. The strips from Fleetguard are part # CC2602 or CC2602A.

You guy's ever thought of using EVANS COOLING its one of the best no addtives no water in it. It does not corrode engine or hoses. It also quiet's engine noise some what, last 500,000 miles. I run it with 203 stat. work's great!
