Hey AskBrandmotion guy

I am seriously considering your nav system for the F150 but after looking at the magellan site the 760 has been discontinued. This is the model you use in your kit right? Or are you also upgrading to the 800?

Brandmotion is not currently a sponsor on this site. They are supposed to be back in February.

Magellan in my opinion is just an ok Nav system, pick up a TomTom Xl and you'll be able to use it in any vehicle with allot more features...just my .02 cents

Yeah but i reallly like the fixed factory look. I hate the "stick it on the window " method. I have a garmin now, and i just don't like the look.

Carnivore,
The Roadmate 800 has been discontinued as of this month. Magellan support is in India and it is horrible. I bought a Magellan 800 last year and tried to install the map update that was just released and it wound up bricking the unit. That will be the last Magellan product I ever own. Best of luck if you buy one.

I just updated my Magellan unit (in a Brandmotion F150 housing) 5 weeks ago without a hitch. I do agree about their support though, you can barely understand them.

well that is good to know. the fact that their support is in india sealed the deal for me. I was going to get the in dash pioneer units with the ipod harness but they don't work with any ipod built in 2007 which is crap. im not sure who impissed at. Apple for always changing their **** or the companies that can't keep up.

If it's your only form of transportion then I would say go for it, but it sure is nice to jump in any other car/truck/motorcycle and be able to take it with me.

ill bet anything that all garmin products are similar in that the most you zoom in, the more detail you get (neighborhood roads). I would be REALLY shocked if it didn't

Yes it shows the smaller roads as well as the highways, I tried the Garmin 660 and megallen 4250 before the TomTom Xl and ended up buying the XL

Yep, the Garmins are the same. I have 2 of their handheld GPS units and the next vehicle GPS I buy will probably be the NUVI 360.
