I had another run in with a piece of junk "made in china" product and I'm about to boycott products made in that country. Is this actually possible or is so much stuff made over there already that it's almost impossible to find stuff not made there?
I do my best, which is actually pretty good because i dont buy electronics very often. And all my tools are so old they were made in USA. The only non-American made product on me right now is my cell phone.
I think boycotting Made in China will be easier than only buying Made in the USA, but it will depend on how picky you want to be with it. There will likely be some things you buy that will have components made in china, but we've got to start somewhere.
well, don't stop at just china, try every autocratic and communist regime. it is about immpossible, plus some things have so many components in it that you can't tell what is from where.
heck, you can't even buy fuel without supporting one of those dopes, the fuel pump does not tell me exactly what oil source the fuel i am pumping in my car is coming from.
but if everyone stopped buying from china, how will china get the money to lend us to spend? plus our cold war industrial complex needs business, we need to fuel china's military to give our cold war thinking people something to do.
I'm on a Mexico boycott at the moment......some of the replacement auto parts coming from there are nothing but junk!
Good luck with that. When I lowered my '99 Ranger, I ordered my springs from an American company and was disappointed when the springs arrived with "made in Mexico" tags on them. I was surprised when I took off the stock springs and found the same tags.
I am boycotting anything not made in Pennsylvania. I mean, why would I want something made in, say, Kentucky?
By buying only Pennsylvania made products I am ensuring that Pennsylvanian workers have jobs. It doesn't matter to me that another state might make a very reliable product at a lower cost. I am buying Pennsylvanian only! Despite having many satisfying experiences with products made in other states, I have had some bad experiences with low-priced, obviously shoddy junk I've bought from other states. This proves that Pennsylvania workers, and only Pennsylvania workers can make a reliable product and anything manufactured elsewhere is garbage.
It gets a little hard when it comes to electronics. My old Zenith TV is the last tv I've seen that was built in USA, probably why its 28 years old and still works like it should. When I bought my HD-TV there was nothing from the USA, I looked around online and found nothing, had to settle with a Samsung made in Japan. As dumb as it may sound I prefer things made in Japan over a simular product made in china or korea.
My RCA MP3 player was made in America. Normally when comparing products if I find two that will work for what I need I will purchase the American made product over the other. I'm not afraid to pay a few more bucks for something that wasn't built in a sweatshop.
I do support my local economy as much as possible, I buy fresh close grow produce over the canned stuff. I buy locally grown fruits and fruit juices. I buy ice cream, milk, and cheese from a local mom and pop vendor. I buy locally grown potatoes to cut into home made fries and chips.
There is a local Plastic Injection Molding plant that I worked at years ago, they keep a online list of what products their plastic goes into. If I cant find a American made version of what I'm looking for, normally I'll go with a japanese product that was assembled in the USA using their plastics.

Hmm, it's intresting that you mentioned samsung in your post, because a samsung product is what got this whole thread started.
