Do not use any steam. The steam can seep into the electrical fittings and cause problems. With all the electrical fittings I would find other ways to clean the engine other than using water pressure.
DO NOT PRESSURE WASH! It will force water past seals and connections and cause all kinds of problems. I wouldn't wash but if you do, don't use high pressure.
don't hit it directly with the high pressure, or just use a water hose and make the pressure with your thumb. hitting up your engine and all other components, especially electrical, with high pressure is asking for trouble.
