I have a 1984 460 engine (belongs in a 1984 e350 Class III ambulance, c6 tranny, dual rear wheels, 2wd) which I want to rebuild. I'm not the engine mechanically inclined type, but appreciate the process. I live just south of Pittsburgh, PA.
Does anyone know of any good/great engine shops in the PA, MD, VA, WV, KY, OH areas?
I'm not wanting to increase HP or torque much , just free up the breathing (intake and exhaust), Rv cam, etc. I'm just going to cruise with it....like a RV of sorts.
I've looked at Jasper and Motorworks, might have to go that way, but prefer to use my block to start the process. I've heard that the 460 truck engine block (beefier) is different that the 460 car engine block. What are the differences?
