here it is, Project Mountain Goat!

So my dad had this truck sitting around for just over 4 years. He told me I could have it so I went to pick it up. Here is what has been completed so far.

Changed Oil, Plug, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Oil, Oil Filter, Fuel Filter, Driver side wheel bearing(inner and outer), seat recovered, Took out carpet and replaced with Full Rubber mat, Head liner visors redone, Put the bed on it, Heater core, radiator, fixed exhaust, lower radiator hose, Ordered medium grey interior paint to match the interior. A few other odds and ins that Im forgeting. This was all in 4 Days then I jumped in the truck and drove 400 miles back to Fort Lee VA. Bed is really not that bad. I dont know at this point if I will buy a new bed or fix this one. The 4.9L pulls alot better than expected and runs very very smooth.

I gotta do more than that to it?

LOL, I was really pressed for time so mechanical things became priority and looks became secondary. Now that I have it home I will start fixing that kind of stuff. I need a tailgate too and Im doing a 92-97 Front clip swap on it too.

This truck is for fun only. Just something to spend money on.

There is no link that I know about. I did that before I wound this great fourm. I just used a cut off wheel, air grinder to get all the rust out. Then bent sheet metal to match, or close to it. Then I revited it. I would have welded it, but my buddies welder was out of gas. Then I bondoed over the sheet metal. Block sanded. Put another coat of bondo, resanded. Then I made sure it was what I wanted. I used a L square to trace a fender line. I drilled a hole into the square and zip tied a sharpie onto it. Then traced out the shape of the wheel well. It took a few tires to get it to where it looked right. Then I taped it off, sanded the rest of the painted area off, and then put a few coats of the liner. I had to redo 1 flare. I hit a branch wheelin and it scraped a big chunk off the fender. Here is the only pic that I have of doing it.

Nice lookin Ride

Always nice to see another older pickup saved and put back on the road that vehicle looks like a fine place to start a good build. I noticed your at Ft. Lee, I live probably 15 minutes from there.

There is someone up the road from me with an F350 that is lifted already, I am wondering if I can convince them to sell it to me. It's a rust bucket, but would make a great project truck too.
I hope it has a manual tranny and transfercase too.
