must be because all of their trucks suck in general and break all the time so they beefed up on the driveshaft to see if that would help
my brother in law bought a new Duracrap a few months ago and I give crap everytime I see it......honestly I have no idea, I just wanted to be a smart azz.........I'm sure someone knows more than me...

I got a dumb question.......I think I know the answer are the driveshafts solid or hollow.....I would think hollow but someone educate me........on my brothers boat it is a 20' 4"-5" solid ss shaft from the engine/trans to the prop (x2)......it would really suck to bend those..

as far as the chebby......I would think thinner and larger diameter would not make sence structurally but I'm not an engineer.

snurtle, you got custom shafts on yours anyway right???

I believe almost all automotive driveshafts are hollow metal tubing.

I have never heard of a solid driveshaft in a car/truck. Larger diameter, even with a thinner material is usually stronger. Unless its sustantially thinner.

Oh and those new duracraps are well beyond any diesel fod/navistar has put in a ford truck. But thats another debate for another time.
